Vanguard’s Knightly News traveled to Dallas, Texas March 21-25th to compete in the Student Television Network Convention. They received a list of sixteen words; they had sixteen minutes to narrow it down to one word with which they based their broadcast on. The word chosen was ‘natural’ and the broadcast was produced in just sixteen hours. This broadcast received an Honorable Mention out of 125 competing schools.

Overall I thought the show was fantastically put together. Every single segment, commercial, and PSA looked extremely professional. The only thing I thought was a bad point for the show was the lighting for the anchors made them look a bit yellow. Other than that, it was a wonderful show!
I really enjoyed this episode. Great job guys! I didn’t really care for the first two commercials, and didn’t quite get what the point of the movie trailer was about. The anchors were perfect! nice color-coordination. The show was overall put together extremely well. Best show yet!

Overall this is an awesome show!!!! In my opinion I think that this show should have won first place. My favorite part was the movie trailer it was very exciting and anticipating. THE BEST SHOW ALL YEAR!!!!!!

The whole show was put together very professionally. The segments captured my attention and the commercials all had a easily noticeable point to them. Great show!
I felt everything about the show was awesome and produced really well.
This was a very good show! It had a very professional feel to it but I think the viewer can remember that we are high school students. Thats what i like about our show is how we are not trying to be adults but we can still work to achieve that level of excellence. One mistake was the occasional audio peak that I noticed through out the show.
Overall, the show looked better than any show we have done before. I’m so proud of all you guys!

This show was one of, if not the best show of the year. The stories were interesting, and the commercials were well done, and could keep someone’s attention. It was obvious that they were following a theme with the stories and commercials, however it didn’t feel like we were being beat over the head with the story. The only criticism that I can offer was, during some stories such as the Pancake House story, the differing sound levels were distracting and at points even painful. However, for it have been done in 16 hours, this was an extremely impressive accomplishment.

I think that “natural” is a good word to pick for the theme. My favorite thing was the movie trailer “Shutdown”. It seemed like it would make a good movie.

Wow!!! Every time i watch i just think, how are they going to top the last video and somehow you always do. the commercials are great every time. i really liked the one in the city it had some good creative shots.It was just a good solid show
Very well produced. The show open and close were both amazingly done. Packages were well planned and had good ideas behind them. Enjoyed every second of it. To be honest story lines were a bit shaky, and the lighting gave a really yellow fake tanish look to the anchors. But overall outstanding

It sounded as if the word “drivers” could be heard during the silence while the bus door opens, then more audio began, as if drivers did not belong there (hopefully that made some sense). All in all, the show was superb, and the team did an amazing job!

It was not interesting this time i was bored but the news anchors were good and lively but i was pretty bored and the movie trailer made no sense to put in there!

Overall I love the show. I think every segment was crisp and all the parts of everything was very good. My favorite segment would have to be the bus driver one. I love the interview shot.

The show was good as always and congrats on the trip to Dallas. Loved the quick things you guys did and what Mr. Rice has said 16 hours for a show and also in a hotel room. WOW!!! I don’t know how Knightly News was that good to just be in a hotel and also produced in 16 hours. I’m really glad you people are really good because now, you made Knightly News a new meaning to Vanguard.

I really enjoyed this show, and it was well put together. Seeing as you guys normally put a show this long together in a weeks time, you did very well putting this one together in the short time you were allowed. I enjoyed most of the commercials other then the movie trailer, which I didn’t quite understand. I realized the word was “natural” very easily. The segment on Crossfit’s lighting was a little dark though. Although I enjoyed each and every commercial, I feel as if there were too many commercials when you compare them to the short news segments. Great job guys (:
It was a pretty good show. What I thought could have been better was the natural dialogue used by the anchors. The Real Talk segment was perfect, because she talked like a normal person to normal people. Also the timing of the conversations between them was more staged and doesn’t feel right if you take the time and listen. People doing the news do that sometimes but they talk naturally so it flows. Maybe clarify a little more in the trailer and commercials. This isn’t the only show i’m speaking widely between all the shows. I still like the shows though. Keep it up.
